It's also possible that I missed a lesson during second grade English.
Whatever the reason, I am firmly against and will fight it to the last. I will call people out on the internet, and will annoy my friends until they don't want to hang out with me anymore. I will destroy this ridiculous perversion of our language, or I will die trying. I may take an occasional break to play video games. I will launch my war against these An-Historicals, and will use every weapon in my arsenal, every bill in my treasury, every citizen under my command. This power will not stand. But, yeah, I think you may be right about the universal pardon thing. So good call.
